Senior Product Designer
Kaliber AI is hiring an experienced product designer to work on the next generation of AI-powered surgical software. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented designer with a strong interest in healthcare and medical technology to join a rapidly growing company working to make a real difference in the lives of surgeons and patients. Qualified candidates will be passionate about what we’re building at Kaliber, and eager to contribute their expertise to the development of Kaliber’s wide-ranging line of products, including patient communication tools and intraoperative guidance systems. This is a hands-on role that will be expected to take on a variety of responsibilities, including user research, design support for every step of the product life cycle, and basic visual design for both products and marketing/communications.
Responsibilities

Work closely with Kaliber’s Head of Design to develop and execute designs for a wide range of med tech projects with a variety of users (including patients, surgeons, and hospital staff).

Own user research, and integrate insights into product design.

Collaborate across Kaliber teams (especially product and engineering) to ensure successful execution of design concepts.

Develop basic visual designs for not only products, but also marketing materials (including web and pitch decks).

Support development and execution of a visual style guide.

Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.

Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.

Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.

Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience and a strong portfolio of design work. This is primarily a UX role, but a background in visual design is a definite plus.

Proven track record of success in a senior design position (preferably in a fast-paced startup environment).

Experience leading complex, user-centered design projects from start to finish.

Thorough understanding of best practices for user interface design, information architecture, and interaction design.

Experience with medical technology and/or AI will help you stand out. An interest in these fields is an absolute must.

A strong problem-solver with an ability and willingness to learn quickly.

Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet tight deadlines.

Stellar communication skills and attention to detail.

Fluency with Figma, Adobe CC.

Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
